Hand Dyed Broken Batt Bits - Shetland wool - 300g (10.5oz) #2

Description

300g (10.5oz) of hand dyed Shetland wool.

Batch #2: a mix of burgundy orange, and mustard, dyed on a natural brown/grey base.

You will receive the wool photographed.

This is a bundle of broken pieces of mill carded Shetland wool. There's a 'rustic' feel to these fibres and they contain bits of VM (dried plant bits, husks, grass etc) and it will leave a dusty mess on your floor!

I cut these batts into smaller pieces so they'd fit in my dye pans. Unfortunately, my wool (laundry) spinner was too strong for these batts and ripped holes all over them. 

So they've now been divided into colourful bits for you to spin, card and/or felt.

These fibres will arrive packaged in a reused grip seal plastic bag.

Frequently asked questions

If you're in the USA, the price you see includes the 10% tariff charge. When I process your order, I pay the tariff to Royal Mail, who then pass it on. When your parcel is delivered, you do not need to pay for the tariff as you have already paid for it.

I don't collect tax

I'm no longer sending orders to the EU. I'm so sorry.

All my orders are currently sent in brown Kraft paper mailers - UK and international. I also use cardboard boxes and I may also reuse old boxes for larger orders. Kraft paper mailers are splash proof but they probably won't survive being left out in the rain. From years of sending plastic mailers, I can tell you that not even plastic mailers can keep the water out. If you can, please have a safe place for your parcel to be left - I'd be happy to write a note for the postie on the mailer.

Currently, all my fibres are packaged in glassine paper bags.

Glassine paper is easily recyclable, and also compostable

If I run out of glassine bags or I've had a big order, I may need to pack the fibre in to a large plastic bag to make it easier to send as it helps pack the fibres in tightly.

YES! and it always has been.

My batts are made from commercially dyed 21-micron Merino sourced from South American flocks.

My 23-micron belnded top is from non-mulesed South African Merino flocks.
