Description

Neon Tetra is a gradient of charcoal and grey 23 micron Merino wool, blended with white and black tussah silk top, and textured with neon nepps of hand dyed mulberry and tussah silk noils.

Each batt contains:

  • 80% 23 mic Merino wool
  • 15% hand-dyed Tussah silk top
  • 5% hand-dyed mulberry silk noil

Each batt has been carded 3 times to create a smooth gradient and lofty batt.

These batts should be very easy to spin and are suitable for spinners of all experiences.

They are also suitable for felting.

You will receive a set just like the ones pictured.

Each set is made up of 2 x 50g (2 x 1.75oz) batts (You will receive 100g (3.5oz) in total). They come packaged in an opaque glassine paper bag, which is recyclable and biodegradable.

Please note:

These batts contain a mix of commercially dyed and hand-dyed fibres. Avoid soaking in hot water as there is a risk that dye may run from the recycled sari silk fibres. Soak separately in room temperature water to be safe.

Silk noils are a waste product from the silk-spinning mills, and may contain bits of vegetable matter. Most rough pieces end up under my carder, but some pieces may remain in the batt, and they should fall out as you spin.

Neon noil will bleed in the water at any temperature. It's the combination of the neon dyes which tend to bleed (they're not exactly the same as acid dyes) and the small silk noil fibres.
