MISHAP BATCH I always aim for consistent dye results, but even when I do everything the same, there will be slight variations between batches. This is why I photograph each batch so that over time we can get a better idea of how the colourway looks overall. However, this week I made some big mistakes so these have to go into the Mishap section. This batch is more saturated in areas than it should be, and the plum element is too pale.
You will receive 2 x 50g (2 x 1.75oz) braids (100g 3.5oz in total)
Hand dyed by me using a mix of acid dyes.
Please note: I dye my fibres in my home. I check that the dye has fully exhausted before I let the fibres cool overnight. In the morning the dyed fibre is left to soak in room-temperature water and I'll check to see if any colour is running. It's unlikely that any will but occasionally some colours (turquoise!) will 'run' a little in their soak after the first wash.
Wool fibre, especially finer fibres like Merino may compact in storage and during travel and may need a little bit of teasing before spinning.
I've photographed my fibres using my phone camera, and I've done my best to capture the colours as accurately as possible. Please be aware that colours can appear differently between devices and under different lighting conditions.
